Real estate and property market investment in Punjab

 

 

Real estate and property market investment in several regions of Punjab has been rising. The real estate and property market has benefited from the relatively more developed infrastructure of the state compared to few other states of India. The total land area of the state is about 50,362 square kilometres. The capital city of the state is Chandigarh, which is administered separately as a Union Territory. Chandigarh also happens to be the capital of neighbouring state of Haryana.

Similar to other regions of India experiencing real estate boom, property prices in Punjab too has risen as demand for residential and commercial property increases. The demand is not just for high end commercial property but also residential property, apartments, etc. Some of the places in Punjab experiencing increase in property prices are Ludhiana, Amritsar, Jalandhar and Patiala.

  • Proposal of two new SEZs in Punjab by real estate developers Ansal Properties & Infrastructure (API) and Ishan Developers & Infrastructure (IDI) with an investment of Rs 2,367 crore.
  • Development of Parsvnath Highway Mall, in the city of Rajpura, Punjab by Parsvnath Developers Ltd.
  • Proposed construction of about 10,000 houses for low and middle income groups by Chandigarh Housing Board (CHB).
